All students and staff members of the PGIA are eligible to use the resources available in the Computing Center for their academic activities after getting registered as an authorized user in the Computer  Unit. ( Please contact the staff of the center for information related to registration )
You are able to use Internet, E-mail and the other software applications from 8.00a.m. to 6.00pm. every day except the public holidays.

Further the users are given facilities of taking laser printouts, scanning and CD-Writing at concessionary rates. To obtain these services you should provide your PGIA identity card .

General Rules

  • Usernames and passwords are given to each user after getting registered. You are requested to change the passwords after the first logging.

  • Please bring your PGIA identity card or any other permission letter from the Director for the registration during the office hours.

  • 50MB space will be allocated to each user (in your Z drive).

  •  25 MB space will be allocated for your unread emails.

  •  You should save your files in the space allocated to you in Z drives, not in any other places like Desktop or My documents.

  • Your personal home pages could be hosted in public_html directory of Z drive and they could be accessible through the http://www.pgia.ac.lk/~username/  url.

  • Your email address would be username@pgia.ac.lk

  • Moreover you are advised to change their passwords regularly.( Please follow the help page if necessary )

  • You are responsible in maintaining the confidentiality of their account information, username and corresponding password. A user should not allow any other person to use his/ her account

  • You should have your PGIA  identity cards or an authorized letter from the director with you whenever you are  present at the center.

  • You should not attempt to tamper with any software installed on workstations or on the network. They are meant for general use and users should not try modifying or erasing them.

  • Before leaving the workstation a user must logout from his/her account in order to make sure that it is inaccessible to others.

  • You should not misuse the facilities available at the computing center and you should not disturb any other user/s.

  • whenever you have a problem you should consult one of our staff member..
