Certificate course on plant breeding techniques for the improvement of annual food & floricultural crops

Plant breeding discipline is facing an endless challenge to improve crop plants. Typically these challenges encompass achieving higher yields, strengthening resistance to certain biotic and abiotic stresses, and improving quality parameters. In order to develop a new variety breeders have to improve an already existing trait or incorporate an entirely new trait, either by conventional methods or manipulating genes through modern technology.
This short course is designed to expand resource base further, share experiences among researchers and provide intensive training to personnel in the public and private sector on a continuing basis. The course will enable professional plant breeders and researchers to upgrade their knowledge in parallel with their current career.
