On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am delighted to warmly invite you to the 38th Annual Congress of the Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture (PGIA), University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. The congress will be held on November 27, 2026, in the scenic academic setting of the University of Peradeniya, in the culturally rich city of Kandy.
Over the years, this annual congress has evolved into a flagship academic event, bringing together a dynamic community of researchers, professionals, and postgraduate students. It offers a valuable platform to present scientific work, exchange ideas, and foster collaborations that drive innovation in agriculture and related fields.
This year’s theme, “Steering Agri-Food Systems Towards Resilience,” reflects the urgent global need to strengthen Agri-Food Systems to ensure food and nutrition security in the face of emerging challenges and crises. The congress aims to stimulate meaningful dialogue and showcase innovative research that contributes to building resilient and sustainable agri-food systems.
We warmly encourage postgraduate researchers to submit extended abstracts of their original research, whether ongoing or completed after July 31, 2023. Submissions should not have been published or be under consideration elsewhere. Accepted abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings, and selected contributions will be invited to submit full papers for potential publication in the peer-reviewed journal, Tropical Agricultural Research. This is an excellent opportunity to gain visibility for your work and engage with a wider academic audience.
The congress will feature distinguished keynote speakers and invited experts who are leaders in their respective fields.
