On behalf of the organizing committee, it is my pleasure to extend to you a cordial invitation to attend the 36th Annual Congress of the Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture (PGIA), University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. This esteemed event will take place on November 22nd, 2024, in Peradeniya, nestled within the vibrant city of Kandy, Sri Lanka.
Throughout the years, the Annual Congress of PGIA has blossomed into the highlight of our academic calendar, drawing professionals, academics, scientists, and students from across the globe. It serves as a dynamic platform where postgraduate students can seamlessly integrate with industry experts, exchange invaluable insights, and showcase their research endeavors, fostering a spirit of collaboration and advancement.
This year's congress is centered around the theme "Precision Agriculture towards Resilient Food Systems," aiming to stimulate vibrant discussions and the exchange of pioneering ideas among researchers.
We invite you to submit a full paper or an extended abstract if your research is leading towards a postgraduate degree, which is ongoing or completed after 31st July 2020, and is an original work that has not been published or is currently being considered for publication elsewhere. Each submission will undergo a thorough peer review process and selected for oral and poster presentation sessions assembled into several thematic areas. The oral and poster presenters exhibiting high standards of professional excellence will be recognized with awards. Accepted manuscripts will be considered for publication in the peer-reviewed, quarterly Journal "Tropical Agricultural Research", which is now indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ, AGORA, J-Gate, and EBSCO) with full papers available in Sri Lanka Journals Online (www.tar.sljol. info).
Our congress tradition also includes the presence of distinguished figures as Chief Guests for the Inauguration Session and renowned scientists delivering keynote addresses. Additionally, we offer pre-congress workshops and social activities to enrich your professional journey.
